For extra PB credit

In the story that the "inconcievable" guy below comes from,
what are the names of the horses the hero rides –
and how did he did he ride them?

Also, what character did Billy Crystal play, and what are two of
his most famous lines in the movie?

And finally, what other trivia questions about this story should I have asked?

1. I tentatively agree with Skleeve.

2. Billy did play Miracle Max, but Skleeve forgot the best line...

"The King's stinking son fired me, and thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it?"

3. And now to answer Skleeve's questions...

a. Who was unemployed in Greenland? - Fezzik

b. Who wrote the original book? - William Goldman, but the book was called "S Morganstern's Classic Tale of Blah blah blah"

c. What are the three dangers of the fire swamp? - Sand, Firetraps, ROUSs

d. Who wrote the film score? - I had to look this one up...Mark Knopfler.

e. What was the real name of the "Dread Pirate Roberts" that Westley replaced? - Ryan, who replaced Cummerbund

And now for my questions...

What reason does Westley give for wearing a mask?

What can Prince Humperdink track on a cloudy day?

"Life is pain, whoever says differently is _____ _____"

Humperdink: "Please consider me an alternative to ________."

"There's a shortage of perfect _____ in this world; t'be a pity
to damage yours."

Skleeve, Skogg,

1. Obviously, you folks have only seen the movie and have not read the book. Too bad. You might both want to correct this condition post haste. It is one of most splendid reads there is. I will not reveal the horses names, but I will say that Von Skleeve comes very close with his guess.

Very close indeed.

Inconcievably close.

2. All good Miracle Max quotes, and one of my faves (I've seen woise") is there, but not the other one.
("He's not dead, hes just MOSTLY dead")

And, you should check out the OTHER books William Goldman wrote, one of which is "Marathon Man" (can you believe it?)

Plus all of these screenplays:

Masquerade (with Michael Relph) - 1965
* Harper - 1966
* Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - 1969: Academy Award
* The Hot Rock - 1972
* The Stepford Wives - 1975
* The Great Waldo Pepper - 1975
* Marathon Man - 1976
* All the President's Men - 1976: Academy Award
* A Bridge Too Far - 1977
* Magic - 1978
* Heat - 1987
* The Princess Bride - 1987
* Twins - 1988 (uncredited)
* Misery - 1990
* Memoirs of an Invisible Man - 1992
* Year of the Comet - 1992
* Chaplin - 1992
* Last Action Hero - 1993 (uncredited)

1. Who is the "Wart-hogged-face buffoon"?

Prince Humperdink. Westley calls him one after he tells him he'll use "small words so you'll understand."

2. "Stop rhyming, I mean it!" (who said this)

Vizzini

"Anybody wanna a _______?" (who said this)

Fezzik said "Anybody want a peanut?"

Ok, if you read the book you might recall that the horses are called "The Whites" and he rides them standing up.

Isn't that right?

That's what I remember anyway.

It's been much longer than that for me. I think I read it in the early '80s. Jebus I'm old!
