You know it's impossible to hold your hands like that, right? Is the red finger bent down and behind
where you cant' really see it? If I hold my hands out like that, with thumbs on the inside, I can't see my finger bent down unless turn my hands over and cross my arms. Help me out here kids.

(...and then I have to type this!)

Owl, treat the bent finger as a break. Your two hands are creating a two digit number. For example, hold your second finger down (looking at all fingers left to right...one to ten). That leaves one finger to the left of the "bent finger" and eight to the right. 1 8 or 18. 2 X 9 = 18

I'm serious Skogg. I've seen kids doing this math thing on their fingers... I forget what they call it, but they do all kinds of math that way. I thought that's what this was. I really do appreciate your explaining it to me though. I was just hoping there was more to learn.
