Yes, we are.

Yes, Skogg, we are all slices of fun in a giant cake of joy. It's a delightful metaphor that deserves extention. To wit: If it's a layer cake, some of us are on top, some not, but when you slice down, what's the diff?

Also, those on top get all the frosting and decoration, but so what? The best (juiciest) part is in between the layers.

And then: How do you keep those pesky outsiders from walking by and taking a swipe off the outside frosting. They don't know jack about the cake, they just screw things up for the folks who do.

I'm sure there are more ideas along these lines... let's see 'em!

Best,

Owl

...that's why we invented fudge.

If Owl takes a simple statement made by me in passing, and elaborates on it to show depth...does that make me a modern-day philosopher?

Or just an ego-maniac?

I like to think of myself as a top layer...because I like decoration. However, I wouldn't be that tasty if it wasn't for the bottom layer.

One layer cakes aren't fun.

Seems like this belongs in here somewhere, again.

I had the blues, so bad one time
it put my face in a permanent frown
You know I'm feeling so much better,
I could cakewalk into town

Honey, I woke up this mornin' feelin' so good,
you know I laid back down again
Throw your big leg over me mama,
I might not feel this good again

My baby, my baby, I do love the way she walks
And when my woman gets sleepy,
I love the way she baby-talks

My work is getting scarce, oh baby,
my work it done got hard,
I spend my whole day stealin' chickens
Honey from the rich folks yard

I would love to take a picnic in the country
and stay all day
I wouldn't do nothing but while my blues away

I had the blues so bad one time
it put my face in a permanent frown
You know I'm feelin' so much better
I could cakewalk into town

Note 1: cakewalk, a black American entertainment having a cake as prize for the most accomplished steps and figures in walking. Also, a stage dance developed from walking steps and figures typically involving a high prance with backward tilt. It is also used to indicate a one-sided contest or an easy task.

I suggest that the Blogoddesses figure out a way for the Cakewalk song to play when the Blog comes up. It could play very quietly, and have two switches by the dancing bear where you can either shut the music off, or turn it up. Good idea? Do-able idea?

It is an idea that will have to be looked into... but yes it is doable
