Anna-isms are becoming my new favorite things.
I have to share one from a few weekends ago... (Spin has already heard this one)
I agreed to have Anna hang out with me all day on Saturday while I was babysitting my 3-month old niece. I tried very hard ahead of time to let Anna know that we would play a lot, but when Annika was crying, I had to drop what I was doing and take care of her.
So we're in the middle of a highly competitive game of fishing (with the magnetic fish and what not), and the baby starts screaming.
So I go to change her...diaper is clean.
I then try to feed her, and she's just not hungry.
So I'm walking around the room, trying all methods of holding, rocking, etc...she just won't stop.
At this point, I'm starting to get a little flustered. This is amplified by Anna innocently asking me if I could get the baby to stop crying.
"It just doesn't work like that, Anna."
"Well, why is she crying?"
I reply with, "I have no idea. I can't get her to stop!"
Anna walks over (at this point I'm sitting on the couch with the baby across my lap), and says, "Sometimes you just need a kiss," and then kisses Annika on the forehead.
Boom...baby stops crying and drifts off to sleep.
What a wise little elfin creature.
