I'm personally not entirely sure if that's how I would like it.
Sure, if you had only one of each type of file on your desktop, why not. But that's not the case in many situations. There is no distinction as to what each file actually is, the filetypes are conveyed, but that's a little vague isn't it?
I'm sure that when they have something that is able to be released to the public, that problem will be taken care of.
Final thoughts: I'm on the fence.
