Reprise: Built In Conflict

Here's why we're capable of understanding the whole socio/political spectrum. It comes from inside our psyches.

Notice that the tribe forms itself into aspects of the individual personality. Then civilizations roll out along those same lines. Here I've shown society evolving from the self through the Tribal and Agrarian Societies to the Industrial Age. There is also a new level of society beyond Industrial just taking shape. There is a separate conflict circle for each heading. I'll put them up as we go along.

For now, just look this over and see if it makes sense to you.

I've just expanded on this a little on Mt. Blogmore. When it posts, I'll bring my comments over here.

Incidentally, these ideas are growing out of a seminal book I read a long time ago called "At the Edge of History" by William Irwin Thompson.

I reordered it from Amazon, and I gotta tell ya, after all these years, it's still a great read.

Pick it up if you get a chance.

I find it interesting that Eductation is in direct opposition to Industry.

I mean, that's why the colors are opposite on the wheel...because they are made up of different elements and they also "contradict" one another.

That's just my suppose for the day.

Yes, you're right Skogg. Move to the head of the class.

(I will of course ignore your typo on the word "education" and decline stackage, as you have so kindly done with me from time to time.)

Just one thing...

could you have picked a WORSE word to MISPELL?

Dang...I didn't even notice that.

One more question...why are the jews more in touch with "self" than other religions? ;)

Given the status of the current administration, I would like Owl to comment on why "Clown" is opposite of "Government".

I would like an "eductation" on that subjection...

Good Question, Skogg!

Here's the answer.

( I should put up a new graphic, but I'm to lazy today to make it —but you can follow this, I'm sure).

Every new structure has the old structure inside of it.
In other words, with every new iteration out from the Tribe, the old Tribal Structure remains intact. The players just get new names.

Here's how it works for:

GOVERNMENT

1. Leader = Executives
2. Hunter = Civil Servants
3. Clown = Propagandists
4. Shaman = Political Scientists

The Bush administration is a media driven propaganda machine engineered by Karl Rove, Rummy, Tom Delay, Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwell, Dobson, Rush Limbaugh, et al. Bush is so stupid, he listens to them and believes them. He mistakes the entertainers and propagandists for the real political idea people. That's because they invented him, and sold him to us.

For a long, long time now we've failed to see who most of our trumped up leaders really are.

Clowns.

In Bushes case. He's a puppet, invented by Clowns (oh, excuse me, maybe I shoud say "Artists").

Ok, here's the stuff from Blogmore. I want to keep it all on one blog in case we want to publish it someday.

————————————————
Remember when we placed the political spectrum on a circle with moderates at the top, the left being liberals, the right conservatives and the bottom radicals?

Well, that structure has it’s origins in the Tribe.

The equivalent social roles are found in the spaces between the poles.

At 1:30 o’clock you have the “Chief” or “Headman” or “Boss”
At 4:30, you have the “Hunter” or “Warrior”
At 7:30 the “Clown” or “Joker” or “Trickster”, and
At 9:30 the “Shaman” or “Holy Man” or “Medicine Man”

In short, the left side is about ideas and “charisma”, the right is about action or “operations”.

Look at it like this. Each iteration represents a new level of societal development from Tribal > (to) Agrarian > Industrial > Informational… (and we’re not done evolving yet).

If I lay this out for you like this, it might help:

1. Headman > State > Government > Managers
2. Hunter > Military > Industry > Technicians
3. Clown > Art > Media > Critics
4. Shaman > Religion > Education > Scientists & Scholars

So that’s where we’re at, Sibb. It means if you want to be a media clown, you’d better be a good one. (It also means you’re a lefty with an identity crisis. The institutions of the coyote and the road runner go way, way back. Bee-beep!)

________________________________

One of the reasons people lose track of where they’re at politically and socially is because each new iteration out from Tribal Society contains within it the fundamental structure of Tribal opposition.

The Shaman is the always opposite of the Hunter, the Headman, always the opposite of the Clown.

It’s the way society works. We need all 4 roles to be played. Think about all the good stories, plays, sitcoms and talk shows. (IMHO, it’s also why Mt. Blogmore and the Spave work and other, less politically and socially diverse Blogs don’t.)

I won’t do them all here, but rather, just give you a taste. Once you see what’s going on, you can probably pick up on it from whatever circle (or circles) you find yourself in. Here’s a quick overview of the Agrarian social structure with its Tribal equivalents.

Recall that the Tribal proceeds to Agrarian thus:
1. Headman > State
2. Hunter > Military
3. Clown > Art
4. Shaman > Religion

Now lets take each of those and see how they break back down into the Tribal structure:

1. State
Headman = King, Hunter = General,
Clown = Apologist, Shaman = High Priest

2. Military
Headman = Commander, Hunter = Foot Soldier,
Clown = Warrior, Shaman = Stategist

3. Art
Headman = Publicist, Hunter = Artisan,
Clown = Satirist/Critic, Shaman = Celebrant

4. Religion
Headman = Bishop, Hunter = Scribe,
Clown = Mystic, Shaman = Theologian

See the overlap? Not just linear but across disciplines.

Ok, lay this one out for yourselves:
Johnny Carson, Ed McMahon, Celebrity Guests, Doc Severinsen

Roll on, pretty momma roll on.

Skogg asks (brilliantly) "why are the Jews more in touch with "self" than other religions.

Short answer is "they're not."

Long answer is they're more in touch with "self" than other ABRAHAMIC religions (Christian and Muslim) because they are the oldest, and have a spititual sense of being directly in touch with the Old Man without any intermediaries.

But there are other religions more in touch with self.

Both Vedanta and Buddhism come to mind.

There is a very, very good book, written by a Jewish Freudian Psychoanylist student of Buddhism that lays it all out, clean as a whistle (although I've had friends who say they had to put it down because they weren't ready to personally cope the truth in it.)

It 's called "Thoughts Without a Thinker - Psycotherapy from a Buddhist Perspective" by Mark Epstein.

At the very least, borrow it from the library and give it a shot. It's one of the most powerful things I've ever read. Promise.

It's not a coincidence, Skogg. Both Hebrew and Hindu use that symbol (Christians too, but they "hide" it). Cool, huh?

Sorry I'm on such a roll here, but you know, when it goes off, it goes off. Nothin' I can do about it except ride the wave.

ekibstnlCheck it out, Skogg. See especially "Origins"
also note that the symbol has only recently been used to denote Hebrews.
