We've come full circle.

As I recall, this blog started when Spinny was trying to get
everybody to agree on whether a sentence should end with
an exclamation or a question mark.

Now we have a Blogtitle that represents a new graphic design
movement involving an irratic method of capitalization.

It's called "sOCioFoOL".

It always comes back to language, doesn't it?

What are the other elements of this style that have been on this blog?

I can list a bunch, but I'll let you guys go first.

See if you can analyze and further define the movement you've started.

Congratulations, by the way!

Way to go Owl,
Now you have the Chop and I arguing over whether we need to site examples of the use of the "sOCioFoOL" or of other ways we have incited grammar conversations on this blog?

Care to clarify?

It's much broader than that, Sociofool is just the name of the movement, kind of like "Cubism" or "Art Nuveau" or "Surrealism". If you believe me that there is a "Sociofool" style to this whole blog, what are some good examples of it? What is the "Sociofool" esthetic?

Does that help, Spin & Chop?

By the way, "Sociofool" to me is not just about language, it's about the whole way, pix, sounds, poems, etc. All the unique moments that make up the sensibility of the style.

I think your right. I think the whole blog almost is an example of it. The one example that comes particularly to mind is the “Omland”, that and the time that we answered all posts with haikus. How about all the times you answer someone with song lyrics?

I named a movement.

This is the greatest day of my life.

How about Bernie and Georgie Jesus?
How about all the pictures of feet, and the "Teerible Cracks in Spave" song. How about Termes' fibonacci snore?

How about the collection of all the names the blog has had?

We should go through the whole thing sometime and pull out all the parts that define it as uniquely "sociofoolish."

Just because you named one, Skogg, doesn't mean you have to have one.

Hey Owl,

Does the addition of Johnny posting Iraq pictures fit in with the Sociofool Movement.

Owl - I can do what I want...including a movement over a movement.

To add my opinion on the sociofool movement...I think the 108 comments request was the epitome of a sociofool action.

Absolutely.

And I noticed you had a
delayed movement over it.

Maybe even a few while doing it!

That's my old pal Skogg.

So is Sociofoolish a good or bad thing to be?

Spin, you can't really answer your question of whether sociofoolish is good or bad.

That's like asking if crazy is good or bad. Not always...

Johnny,
If I like something that someone says it makes the title. It’s always changing, and sometimes it’s hard to find anything worth while to put up there. Congrats though. I don’t think I have ever gotten anything up there.

I suggest you put :

"I don't think I have ever gotten anything up there."

up there next.

I cant do it today. only one title change per day... (new rule... might not be a rule tomorrow)

That's ok, spin... your call.

Here's one:

"I just threw up a little in my mouth"

One of Skogg's first "Sociofoo"
comments and always a classic!

(In those days her name was "Sarah")

...hey we just shortened the movement name
(ok Skogg? Let's lose the "L", that's my vote.

So its the Foo Movement then is it?

Sociofoo?

I mostly really like the term "ya can't hide the Foo". or maybe "you can't hide FROM the Foo".

Tue Aug 23, 05:23:00 PM MDT
Blogger Sarah said...

Would "sociofoo" be the plural of "sociofool?"

That would be so sociofoolish to take off the L instead of adding the S.

That's just my opinion.

Tue Aug 23, 05:25:00 PM MDT
Blogger Bill Fleming said...

Plural would be "sociofooz"
